Loving Our Mission

March 10, 2010

The Church is True

  • Picture of a wonderful missionary sister I had the opportunity to work with who has 15 children.
  • Elder Jaster and I worked at the Blacksmith shop together. He gave his first tour and I made my first horseshoe.
  • The brilliant stars against the night sky here are really something – More than even beautiful!
  • Went to our first Farewell Breakfast to bid departing missionaries goodbye. So sad.
  • Had time to put a turkey in the oven but no time to eat it. Grabbed a leg and ran. Have an idea of how our kids felt when we got after them for having bad manners.
  • Often see semi trucks loaded with corn going to the grain elevators nearby. It’s loaded onto barges and taken down the Mississippi to New Orleans and shipped overseas. The Mississippi is beginning to thaw.
  • Elder Hinckley and his wife visited. He said there are 3,900 senior missionaries and the church has call for 6,500. They are 2,600 short. He said, “We so desperately need more couples.”
  • Elder Hinckley said his father, President Hinckley, had a sign that said, “DOn’t quIT.”
